The New York Times, August 18, 1919 The National Woman's Party starts a campaign to pressure seventeen governors, of both parties, to call special legislative sessions to ratify the Suffrage Amendment before the 1920 primaries and general election. Two special sessions are already scheduled in September for New Hampshire and Minnesota. Only three of the states, likely to ratify the Amendment, have regular legislative sessions scheduled before 1921. read clipping
